Innergy Power Corporation™ is a leader in the design and manufacture of rechargeable batteries and high quality PV solar modules.
Innergy Power recently announced it will be moving toward the development and manufacturing of advanced battery systems for electric vehicle (EV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) applications: www.ecotality.com/press.php.
Innergy Power is the only North American manufacturer of both renewable energy solar modules and rechargeable batteries.
Solar Photovoltaic Modules
Innergy Power's solar photovoltaic (PV) product line addresses the burgeoning worldwide demand
for renewable solar energy products. Innergy Power's fiberglass reinforced panel (FRP) solar
modules are designed to meet a broad range of applications where quality, durability, rugged
construction and light weight are primary needs.
Applications include logistics tracking, asset management systems, off-grid lighting, mobile
communications, mobile computing, recreational vehicles, signaling devices and surveillance
cameras.
Innergy Power's solar modules are only .22 inches thin. The FRP line includes modules from 1.5W
to 75W and is manufactured on lightweight fiberglass substrates. Innergy Power's panels are
also available with glass superstrates.
ThinLine Cells
Innergy Power's thin (.33 inch), high quality ThinLine energy cells and batteries are available
to OEM, consumer and corporate markets and are used in a wide variety of applications where form
factor is an essential design element.
Innergy Power's unique batteries are based upon its patented ThinLine planar-case design, combined
with thin metal film technology. These two technology breakthroughs allow Innergy to produce the
world's thinnest, flat, lightweight sealed-lead battery with performance comparable to that of
nickel cadmium (NiCd) and nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries.
Innergy Power cells feature:
- No memory effect
Excellent charge retention -- retains 99% of charge after one month on shelf
Excellent cycle life -- up to 2,000 recharge cycles
Thin form factor which provides greater energy density than round cells
Cost-effective pricing
- Strong safety characteristics
Innergy Power has shipped over 2,000,000 cells to more than 550 customers since it was founded in
the 1990s. The company is positioned to capitalize on the large and growing demand for high performance
rechargeable batteries that are cost-effective, reliable and safe and employ an electrochemical technology
that does not create new hazards for the environment. Sealed-lead batteries are recycled at a rate in
excess of 98%.
Power Plant Auxiliary Batteries
Innergy Power is continuing to develop the Power Plant brand of rechargeable auxiliary batteries for the
corporate and consumer markets, while continuing to strongly support its rapidly-expanding OEM business.
In both consumer and trade research, Innergy Power determined that there is continued dissatisfaction with
the run-times and costs associated with internal rechargeable batteries, including lithium-ion, lithium-polymer
and nickel metal hydride. Innergy Power has proven that its unique ThinLine energy cell form factor, coupled
with the advantages of thin metal film technology, can provide a significant performance advantage in many OEM
and consumer aftermarket applications.
A broad range of Power Plant auxiliary batteries provides extended run times and are available now for portable
devices such as notebook PCs, PDAs, GPS transceivers, portable DVD players, handheld video players and portable
CD players.
Ownership and Facilities
On October 1, 2007, Innergy Power Corporation was acquired and became a division of ECOtality, Inc. (OTC BB: ETLY). Innergy Power is headquartered in San Diego, Calif., with a manufacturing facility in Tijuana, Mexico, and a distribution center in San Diego. |
Consumer uses dominate battery sales, providing a $37 billion worldwide rechargeable market in the year 2006. This market is driven by the unending introduction of battery-operated portable equipment, ranging from sophisticated computers to exciting new telecommunication devices that allow users to access information or contact each other from anywhere at anytime.
