Application Notes for Emergency Preparedness Kit & Power Packs
Have you ever put together an emergency preparedness kit that included things like AA and AAA batteries…to be used only in case of emergency…and then the “emergency” turns out to be the need to use the AA batteries for your digital camera to take some birthday pictures? Unfortunately your story is very common as emergency preparedness kits are often raided with the full intention of restocking on the next shopping trip.
What generally happens is the kit’s batteries do not get replaced, the emergency occurs (think earthquake, hurricane, tornado, winter storm, black out or….) and there is a mad scramble using matches, candles, etc to try and find some spare batteries for flashlights, radios, etc.
Now…imagine a situation where an emergency occurs and you don’t ever have to go mining through your many hand held devices looking for some AA’s or AAA’s that can be put to use to meet more critical needs. You no longer have to “imagine” this scenario because by simply using the Innergy Power Emergency Preparedness Kit (IP123EP) as the heart of your preparedness plan, you can breathe easier when the power goes out. Here’s how it works…
The key component in the IP123EP is the 12V,8Ah Power Pack, a unique low profile power source that is built into a 20W framed solar panel. The unit comes complete with an AC wall charger so the Power Pack can be plugged into your wall AC outlet to make sure the unit is ready for use when the power goes out.
To draw upon this 96 watt hours of battery DC power, you’ll only need to plug in the detachable DC (cig plug) that will then allow you to power most devices that you can power from the DC outlet in your car or truck. You need to plug one end of the devices car charging cord into the Power Pack and the other end into the device and you are ready to power cell phones, laptop PCs, emergency lighting, PDAs, AA/AAA battery chargers, and much more…
When it comes times to recharge the Power Pack, you have three options…starting with the built in solar recharging…just place the unit in full sun, or use the auto (car) charging cord to recharge from the DC outlet in your car or truck and finally, when AC (wall) power is once again available, you can plug into the wall for recharging.
Not only is the Emergency Power Kit and its key component, the Power Pack, great for emergency preparedness but it’s a natural when it comes to back up power in remote areas, be that on a camping trip, weekend trip to a mountain cabin or having extra renewable energy power readily available at remote job sites.
Products available in this category include the IP123EP (Emergency Power Kit), the 12V,8Ah Power Pack (IP1208PP) and the Power Pack with LED lighting ( IP1208PPL)
