Dramatic growth in requirements for portable products, as well as emergency back-up power, has led to a need for a reliable, proven technology that is easily recycled at end of life, competitive in cost, and compact in form factor. The cells are available in five different capacities (2Ah through 5Ah) to provide a variety of power solutions in a broad range of applications. The use of an Absorptive Glass Matte (AGM) separator and a resealable vent allow the cells to be used in any orientation. The need for cache memory back-up in RAID storage systems where space is limited and the battery solution needs to be on float charge presents a particular dilemma for the RAID storage design engineer.
